16 A Gateway to Yoga with Flex & Flow

This is the fifth and final episode in our series recorded live at Yoga Fest in June! This episode features Flex & Flow. We talked to Jamie King, the owner of Flex and Flow, as well as Liz Wilson and Nicci Randall, who are both studio managers and instructors.

Jamie talked about how she opened Flex and Flow because of the need for a community – for friends. Jamie is a runner, so she designed a class that’s kind of a gateway to yoga for people that come from active workout backgrounds. It’s their signature class; it’s called HIIT & Flow and combines a high intensity interval training workout with yoga. In addition to power, beginner vinyasa, and active restoration classes, they have a free weekly run club every Saturday.

They also run an online community called Sweat Pink. It’s a community for fitness enthusiasts and instructors that are active on social media in the fitness space. They stay in touch through the online platform and get together for events and retreats. They work with a lot of different brands from food products to apparel and give this online community opportunities to grow as a digital influencer online for even a fitness professional.
